THIS SIMPLE COMBINATION OF GOOD QUALITY BEEF SAUSAGES AND SAUTEED BACON AND MUSHROOMS, PACKED INTO A CRUSTY BUN WITH YOUR FAVOURITE CHEESE AND CONDIMENTS, MAKES FOR A SUPER FAST AND DELICIOUS WEEKEND LUNCH.
6 beef sausages
1 tbsp olive oil or butter
2 cups sliced mushrooms
1/2 red onion, sliced
6 rashers of streaky bacon, diced
6 hotdog or hamburger buns
6 cheese slices or 1 cup grated cheese
Set up grill for indirect cooking and heat to a medium temperature.
Place sausages on the indirect side and cook through until they probe to 70*C.
Sear sausages over the coals until golden brown, then set aside.
Place a a pan on the grill and add butter or oil and onion slices and cook until translucent.
Add diced bacon and cook until browned, then add mushroom and continue cooking bacon until crisp and mushrooms have softened.
Remove sausages and pan from the grill, and divide between toasted buns, topping with cheese and sauces.
